10-Minute Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta – A Dinner Recipe Everyone Will Love!
Instructions:
1. Cook the Pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions (about 8 minutes for most types of pasta). Once the pasta is al dente, drain and set aside. Do not throw away the pasta water, as you’ll use it to create the sauce!
2. Sauté the Shrimp:
While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter.
Once the butter is melted, add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Cook the shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque. Do not overcook—shrimp cook quickly! Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
3. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Let it melt, then add the minced garlic. Sauté the garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Add a splash of the reserved pasta water (about 1/4 cup) to the skillet to help create a sauce, and scrape up any brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
4. Combine the Pasta and Shrimp:
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss it in the garlic butter sauce, ensuring the pasta is coated evenly.
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and mix gently. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the top for a fresh burst of flavor. Season with more salt and pepper if needed.
5. Serve and Garnish:
Once everything is well combined and heated through, plate the pasta and shrimp.
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese for extra richness.
