5-Minute Mug Cake

Instructions:

  1. Mix the dry ingredients:
  • In a large microwave-safe mug (at least 12 oz), add the flour, sugar, cocoa powder (if making a chocolate cake), baking powder, and salt. Stir to combine.
  1. Add the wet ingredients:
  • Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix well until you have a smooth batter. If you’re using chocolate chips, stir them in now.
  1. Microwave:
  • Microwave the mug cake for 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on the power of your microwave. The cake should rise and be firm but still moist when done. Be careful not to overcook, or it will become dry.
  1. Cool and enjoy:
  • Let the cake cool for a minute or two before eating. You can enjoy it straight from the mug or transfer it to a plate.
  1. Optional toppings:
  • Add a dollop of whipped cream, a scoop of ice cream, or drizzle some chocolate syrup over the top for extra indulgence!

Tips:

  • For a vanilla version, skip the cocoa powder and add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of cinnamon or some fruit, like blueberries or sliced strawberries.

This 5-minute mug cake is a lifesaver for quick desserts!
