Custard Cream with Meringue

Ingredients:

For the Custard:

  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon of butter

For the Meringue:

  • 4 large egg whites
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon of cream of tartar (optional)
  • A pinch of salt
