Helene, a strong storm, is forecasted to hit the United States in the coming days. Hurricanes causing damage across large areas of Florida are a common occurrence in September.
Hurricane Helene is predicted to reach the Sunshine State on Thursday, September 26th, and is expected to cause a lot of destruction. When it gets to the state, it will be considered a category four hurricane. The National Hurricane Center says that some beaches could have storm surges as high as 20 feet, and cities like Miami have been hit the hardest in the past.
In some areas of the Florida Big Bend coast, flooding could reach up to 20 feet above the ground, as warned by the center. “A very dangerous and deadly flood is expected in some areas of that coastline.”
