A Creamy, Spicy Comfort Food Classic

How to Make Smoked Sausage Cajun Alfredo

1. Cook the Pasta

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

2. Cook the Sausage and Aromatics

  1. In a large skillet or sauté pan, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned on both sides, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add the chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until softened and fragrant, about 2-3 minutes.

3. Create the Cajun Alfredo Sauce

  1. Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the Cajun seasoning to the pan and stir to combine with the onions and garlic.
  2. Pour in the heavy cream and milk, stirring well to blend. If you prefer a thicker sauce, whisk in the flour.
  3. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then stir in the Parmesan cheese until fully melted and the sauce becomes creamy.
