Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Ham
Trim the Ham: If needed, trim excess fat from the ham, but leave a thin layer of fat on the top to help keep the meat moist during cooking.
Score the Ham: Use a sharp knife to make shallow crisscross cuts in the fat (about 1-inch apart). This will help the glaze penetrate the ham and give it that beautiful, caramelized finish.
Step 2: Prepare the Glaze
Combine the Glaze Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, honey, pineapple preserves, cinnamon, cloves (if using), salt, and black pepper. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
