Ingredients (Serves 4–6)
For the Pasta:
- 12 oz (340 g) penne pasta or your choice of pasta
- Salt for boiling water
For the Proteins:
- 1 lb (450 g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lb (450 g) smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
For the Sauce:
- 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
- 1 ½ cups (360 ml) chicken or seafood stock
- 1 cup (100 g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste (optional, for a richer color)
- Salt and pepper to taste
For Garnish:
- Chopped parsley
- Grated Parmesan (optional)
