Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven:
Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Prepare the Crust:
- In a large skillet, cook the 1 lb of ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks, until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef with mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Mix well until the ingredients are fully combined.
- Press this mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a greased pie dish, forming your “crust.”
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until it starts to become golden and firm.
3. Prepare the Filling:
- While the crust is baking, cook the second 1 lb of ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
- If using, sauté the onion in the same skillet until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the crumbled bacon, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper to the cooked beef and onions. Stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and heavy cream until well blended.
- Mix the shredded cheddar cheese into the beef mixture, then pour the egg and cream mixture over the top, stirring to evenly coat.
4. Assemble the Pie:
- Once the crust has finished baking, remove it from the oven.
- Pour the beef and cheese mixture into the crust, spreading it evenly.
- Return the pie to the oven and bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the top is golden and bubbly.
5. Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with pickle slices, if desired, and drizzle with mustard or ketchup for that extra cheeseburger vibe.
- Serve warm and enjoy every savory bite!
