For the Marinade:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp water
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp cornstarch
Instructions:
- Marinate the Beef:
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and black pepper. Add the sliced beef and toss to coat. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- Prepare the Sauce:
- In a separate bowl, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, water, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir well until the sugar and cornstarch dissolve.
- Stir-Fry the Beef:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until it starts to brown. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Onions:
- In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of oil. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until they start to soften and caramelize.
- Combine and Finish Cooking:
- Return the beef to the skillet with the onions. Pour the prepared sauce over everything, and stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the beef and onions evenly.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve hot over steamed rice.
