Classic Baked Lasagna Recipe

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Noodles:
    Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Make the Meat Sauce:
    In a skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned. Drain any excess fat, then add marinara sauce. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. Prepare the Cheese Filling:
    In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella, Parmesan, the egg, and a bit of salt and pepper until well combined.
  4. Layer the Lasagna:
    In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Add a layer of noodles, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture, more meat sauce, and some shredded mozzarella. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of sauce and a generous amount of mozzarella on top.
  5. Bake:
    Cover the dish with foil and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to allow the cheese to brown and bubble.
  6. Garnish:
    Remove from the oven, let it sit for 10 minutes, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
