Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Cook the Pasta:
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the Beef and Mushrooms:
- Heat the olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the onions and cook until softened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the mushrooms and garlic, cooking until the mushrooms release their moisture and begin to brown, about 5-6 minutes.
