Creamy Sausage and Ravioli Bake

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Ravioli:
  • If using fresh ravioli, cook according to the package instructions in boiling salted water. If frozen, add a few extra minutes to the cooking time. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  1. Cook the Sausage:
  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sausage slices and cook until they are browned on both sides, about 4-5 minutes.
  1. Prepare the Cream Sauce:
  • In the same skillet with the sausage, add the heavy cream and broth. Stir in garlic powder (or fresh garlic), Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Let the sauce simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly, stirring occasionally.
  1. Combine and Bake:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large oven-safe baking dish, combine the cooked ravioli and the sausage with the cream sauce. Stir gently to coat the ravioli in the sauce.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top of the ravioli and sausage mixture.
  • Optional: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  1. Bake:
  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. You can also broil for 1-2 minutes at the end for a golden, crispy cheese topping.
  1. Garnish and Serve:
  • Once out of the oven, garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
