Fluffy Seeded Bread Recipe

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  • Add the warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Stir to combine until a soft dough forms.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Add the poppy seeds (or other seeds) and knead them into the dough until evenly distributed.
  1. First Rise:
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  1. Shape the Dough:
  • Divide the dough into equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
  • Place the dough balls in small baking bowls or ramekins, as shown in the picture, and cover them. Let them rise for another 30-45 minutes, or until puffy and slightly risen over the rim.
  1. Prepare for Baking:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Brush the tops of the dough with the egg wash for a shiny, golden finish.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
  1. Cool and Serve:
  • Remove from the oven and let the bread cool on a wire rack.
