Galletas de Avena

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
  • In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, cinnamon (if using), and salt. Set aside.
  1. Cream the Butter and Sugars:
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  1. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:
  • Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. If using raisins or chocolate chips, fold them into the dough.
  1. Form the Cookies:
  • Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Gently flatten each ball with the back of a spoon.
  1. Bake:
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  1. Enjoy:
  • These oatmeal cookies are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.

These Galletas de Avena are perfect for a cozy treat with a cup of coffee or as a quick snack!
