Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Potatoes
- Wash and peel the potatoes.
- Grate them using a box grater.
- Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out excess moisture. Removing the water helps achieve a crispy texture.
2. Mix the Ingredients
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, eggs, salt, and pepper.
- Stir well to ensure the eggs coat the potatoes evenly.
- If you’re using any optional add-ins like cheese, herbs, or spices, mix them in now.
3. Cook the Potato Mixture
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add oil or butter.
- Spoon portions of the potato mixture onto the skillet, flattening them slightly with a spatula.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
4. Serve and Enjoy
- Remove the cooked patties or fritters from the skillet and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
