  1. Cook Macaroni:
  • Cook the macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, drain, and set aside.
  1. Mix Cheese Sauce:
  • In a large bowl, mix together the butter, 2 cups of the grated cheddar cheese, eggs, sour cream, cheddar cheese soup, salt, pepper, milk, and dry mustard. Stir until smooth.
  1. Combine:
  • Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese mixture, stirring until the pasta is evenly coated.
  1. Bake:
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese. Sprinkle paprika on top if desired.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
  1. Serve:
  • Let the mac and cheese cool slightly before serving.

Tips:

  • You can add crispy bacon, caramelized onions, or breadcrumbs for extra flavor and texture.
  • If you’re looking for a richer sauce, you can substitute half-and-half or heavy cream for the milk.
