Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside. You can drizzle a bit of olive oil on it to prevent it from sticking if you’re not using it immediately.
Brown the Beef
In a large skillet or heavy-bottomed pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef or thinly sliced steak. Season with salt and pepper, and cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked. If using sliced steak, cook until just browned to avoid overcooking. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
