Slow Cooker Steak and Cheddar Potato Casserole


Ingredients

For the casserole:

  • 1 lb (450 g) steak, cut into bite-sized pieces (sirloin or ribeye works well)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, thinly sliced (Yukon Gold or Russet are ideal)
  • 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)

Optional Add-ins:

  • ½ cup chopped green onions or chives (for garnish)
  • 4 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon (for topping)
  • ½ cup sour cream (for serving)
