Ingredients
For the casserole:
- 1 lb (450 g) steak, cut into bite-sized pieces (sirloin or ribeye works well)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, thinly sliced (Yukon Gold or Russet are ideal)
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (divided)
Optional Add-ins:
- ½ cup chopped green onions or chives (for garnish)
- 4 slices of cooked, crumbled bacon (for topping)
- ½ cup sour cream (for serving)
