How to Make It
1. Prepare the Steak
- Season the steak pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. This step is optional but adds extra flavor.
2. Assemble the Casserole in the Slow Cooker
- Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese over the potatoes.
- Add the steak on top of the cheese layer.
- Top with the remaining potatoes.
3. Add the Liquid
- In a bowl, mix heavy cream, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour the mixture evenly over the layers in the slow cooker.
4. Cook
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the potatoes are tender.
5. Finish with Cheese
- In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top. Cover and let it melt.
