Instructions
- Cook the Pasta Shells:
- In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta shells until they’re al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare the Meat Filling:
- In a skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
- Mix in half of the tomato sauce to keep the meat filling moist.
- Assemble the Shells:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Stuff each pasta shell with the meat mixture. If desired, add a spoonful of ricotta or cottage cheese to each shell before adding the meat.
- Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish.
- Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over each shell.
- Bake:
- Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve:
