Stuffed Pasta Shells with Beef and Cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta Shells:
  • In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta shells until they’re al dente. Drain and set aside.
  1. Prepare the Meat Filling:
  • In a skillet, sauté the onion and garlic until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and oregano.
  • Mix in half of the tomato sauce to keep the meat filling moist.
  1. Assemble the Shells:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  • Stuff each pasta shell with the meat mixture. If desired, add a spoonful of ricotta or cottage cheese to each shell before adding the meat.
  • Place the stuffed shells in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over each shell.
  1. Bake:
  • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  1. Serve:
