Instructions
- Make the Meat Sauce:
- In a large pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant. Add ground beef and sausage; cook until browned.
- Drain excess grease, then stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, wine (if using), basil, oregano, sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Simmer on low for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, to let the flavors meld.
- Prepare the Cheese Filling:
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, Parmesan cheese, and parsley (if using). Stir until smooth.
