Soft, fluffy rolls filled with rich, creamy vanilla custard—these are a delightful treat for any time of day!


Ingredients:

For the Dough:

  • 2 1/4 tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

For the Vanilla Cream Filling:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For Topping:

  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Optional: A drizzle of icing (mix powdered sugar with a bit of milk or cream)
